Wired or Wireless CCTV? Which Is Best?

Wired

This method of installation consists of a physical connection between the camera and DVR/NVR. This is a more stable and secure way of transmission of images over a distance such as 1KM. The CCTV camera requires power and data transmission to send images back to the controller. The quality of the images can be high such as 4K, giving great detail and identification of objects. This way often is not so pleasing to the eye especially with trailing cables, however there ways and methods used to hide the cables as much as possible and out of reach from chancers who want to cut or sabotage the security system.

Wireless/Wire-free

Wireless technology has come as a blessing to humankind, we are able to do more without the hassle of trailing cables. We can work in our back garden or the beach as long we have sufficient battery and a good connection to the internet. With CCTV systems sharing the same technology to be wireless, means less cables on show, greater flexibility and can purchased of Amazon marketplace with ease. Sadly this is where the fun stops. Power is the main issue, as they are recording Images more power is used and the small batteries don’t last as long. They often come with built in SD cards that anyone can take down and cloud storage can be costly.
